Default $5r to $55 Daily Fifty Grand Pokerstars

Hey guys,

I've had some ok results in mtt recently but not really on pokerstars or fulltilt for the main. I'd really like to try some higher buyin mtts on the bigger sites and was wondering what the general consensus was on these rebuy sats?

They seem to pay alot of seats but how much can you really spend on a $5r when the prize is only a $55 seat. Bascially I'm asking if these are worth playing and what would be the best stratergy to extract maximum value from them?

I would imagine this has been covered before and if anyone knows of any useful threads im all ears.

Cheers

Double Rebuy and Add-On Only. If you bust during rebuy period forget it.

Thats pretty much what I thought. In general could you consider these sats good value?

I wouldn't rebuy at the start with the $5 tourney for a $55 seat. There was a thread on this awhile back, and basically what jgunnip said, and I agree with, is if the seat isn't at least 20x the cost of the rebuy then it's probably better to not double rebuy at the beginning. This is especially true if you are planning to quit the tournament if you bust...you should never do that in a rebuy, how much money you have invested so far has nothing to do with it. Money already lost in rebuys is just long term sunk cost and has no effect on the EV of rebuying.
