Re: Awkward spot with AK
I would have to know what kind of player the Button is? How did he get that big of a stack? Will he just call or will he come over the top to isolate?
If you feel he will just call, then I would certainly call. You may have as many as 11 outs (3A, 3K, four4s, and give yourself one out for a BDFD). Hell, you may be ahead right now. I would call and then see what button does. |

Re: Awkward spot with AK
Push, you have overs, gutshot, backdoor flush draw. SB is in most cases flipping with you at best.

Re: Awkward spot with AK
If button is weak/passive, I agree with Soulman. Shove it!
I certainly don't understand SB's line at all. With his stack, he should have been looking for a place to shove. Why would he call your raise? He should have been shoving then. He either has a monster or he doesn't know what he is doing/ |

Re: Awkward spot with AK
I ended up shoving and button folded and SB showed down 44 and won with a straight.
I guess his hand kinda makes sense although i'd shove pre with 44 after button limps. |

The SB completes and then calls off, what, 1/2 his stack against 2 players with a small PP OOP...is better than either shoving pre or 3-Bet shoving? I'll need a LOT of convincing and an abacus to agree! -ZEN |
