Default 10 year anniversary of online poker coming up!

January 1998 was when it all started. The first real money hand was dealt on Planet Poker. Anyway, the reason for writing this post is simple. I would like write a book or start a blog containing the history of online poker. I would love to hear from someone who has played since the beginning. Does anyone remember when the original poker.com launched? I know Delta Poker started in Nov 98'. Paradise was late 99? I am using Archive.org but I can't find everything there. Anyway, I would love to hear everyone's feedback on this idea. Thanks in advance.

My impression is... 10 years and they still don't have their feces cohesive. Most sites still have many accusers of being rigged. For me personally, it seems nearly impossible to get so many bad beats (FTP) in a square game. As far as money movement, they are like roach hotels - money goes but is very difficult to get out.

I haven't heard of any sites that would meet the standard of reasonable customer service plus completely honest dealing that the average American consumer demands.

My first two accounts were on Planet and Paradise. I started playing online in early 2000. We have come a long way. Back then even though Paradise was the big site the site would crash at least once a day. Usually when they had a major tournament going.

Paradise didn't have multi table tournaments back then.

I can't remember if it was right from the outset but they had them at one point and it would crash the site. I remember sending them an angry e-mail. It might have been later on. It wasn't even that big. I think it had under 1000 players but when it started the whole site would suffer from disconnections and lag.

Back then everything was limit. I can't remember when NL came out but it was at least 2001 I think.

Thanks for all of the responses guys (even if some were negative and pessimistic). Remember at one time, the lowest limit you could find on the internet was 3-6, and the largest game was 10-20. Now the lowest limit is .01-.02 and the largest limit is well, really large... Ramon Scott I would love to read that article if someone could find a link. Thanks
