Final Pot: $24.75 Villain seemed normally decent. 20/15/2.5. Because villain is decent, I feel we can really make him put his better hand away for us, as he's bet/folding turns like this really often. My raise size is really debatable, in fact, I think it's a mistake. Let me know what you think. |

Re: 50NL -- floating then bluffing
When you float, it's because you don't think villain doesn't have much. When he fires turn, it's really unlikely that he has absolute air. We're only looking to bluff when he checks to us, not when he fires again on a scary turn.

Re: 50NL -- floating then bluffing
Also, as far as sizing goes, it's perfect IMO. It looks like you want a call, and it picks up the pot just as much as 21 does but saves you 6bb when he calls.

Re: 50NL -- floating then bluffing
You need to bet more. Giving him odds with one spade + outs to a boat.

Re: 50NL -- floating then bluffing
Those are the two arguments that I am dithering over as to the bet size. Do I want it to look like I want a call? or do I want to price out a high spade?

Re: 50NL -- floating then bluffing
You dont want to look like you want FE but you dont want him to talk hiself into calling with 10 outs or whatever he may have. I'd make it around standard $25. But you look like a total tool if he pushes regardless of you betsizing

Re: 50NL -- floating then bluffing
And then the river -- if it blanked, a push would probably win me the pot if there's not spade if he calls. Gut check time, of course, but still....
I'm beating AK with a spade, though, and checking behind ftw would be okay in many cases too. Aaargh. I was just realizing how often I'm telling people to bet/fold in villain's spot, and thinking that against non-spewy villains we're seeing a lot of folds. |

Re: 50NL -- floating then bluffing
25 looks like way too much. 18 may be too little, but 25 is huge.

Re: 50NL -- floating then bluffing
Thac with all the respect, your betsizes are way too small judging from you posts. I don't like milking people, if I bet I bet hard.

Re: 50NL -- floating then bluffing
one important point is that if he calls and the river blanks its a great spot for a bluff so you should try and leave room for that depending on your stack size.
