Live ruling in 2k MTT event?
Usually I play striclty online but went down to the USPC for some events this past weekend. Was playing in the 2k event and am like UTG+1 or so... I get my cards, UTG folds, I look at my hand and put out a raise. After my raise is in the pot the guy on the button or something points out that his card got flipped over. As the dealer was dealing the last card to the button I think it accidentally flipped. There had already been an UTG fold, my raise and then a fold after me. The floor was called and said that if a hand is flipped over in anyway before all cards are dealt it's a misdeal.
Is this accurate? If so, can't the big blind just flip his cards over if he doesn't like them since he's dealt his second card long before the button? |

Re: Live ruling in 2k MTT event?
This is not the rule where I play. the rule is that the exposed card becomes the flop burn card. the dealer says "the 7 of clubs will be the burn" shows the card, and deals the button (or whoever had a card exposed) one more card.
there's a difference between when it flips during the deal / because of the dealer and when a player intentionally exposes cards. If a player exposes cards intentionally, that may result in a penalty. |

Re: Live ruling in 2k MTT event?
Well in atlantic city if 1 of the first 2 cards in the hand is exposed then its a misdeal otherwise it becomes the burn card. At least that is the rule in cash games.
This used to also be the tournament rule. However many AC joints now in tournaments go with the rule that if any card is exposed then the entire hand is now a misdeal. I don't agree with this rule but it seems to be the norm in most AC tournaments. |

Depends on the room. In mine it's ruled a misdeal if more than 1 card is accidentally flipped up or if the first flipped up card is in the blinds or on the button.
