Default How to adjust to this

So Bay101 has been spreading a 10-200 spread game since the Shooting Star. They run the spread game because of San Jose's $200 max bet city ordinance.

The game is $400 min/$1000 max

The interesting thing about this game is what often happens on the later streets... an example:

blinds $3(btn)/$5/$10
Hero has ~$1500 and both villains cover
2 limpers to hero who has K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and raises to $75. Button and one limper call.

pot ~$245 post drop - 3 handed
flop K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and hero leads for $200 and both call...

Pot is now $845 and has basically turned into a 100/200 game.

What changes or adjustments do you make for a game like this? I saw this several times throughout the night.

Have to dial back the implied odds calculations a bit early and then from the turn on you'd be more interested in pot-odds to draw out. I'd expect to see more draws make it to the river, so you'll prolly feel sucked out on alot.

I would think it would be easier to get committed to a hand, since your investment on the later streets can be limited, especially HU.

I only play the 5-200 SL and the 20/40 limit games, but yeah it looks like it basically devolves into a 100/200 game on the later streets. I mean, are you ever going to bet less than 200 on the later streets on a decent pot?

The only other thing I can think of is that maybe people are still viewing it as a no-limit game, so they're less apt to call you down with the garbage they might in a limit game.

A-no kicker may be able to be called down in a limit game, but I don't know if they'll do it in a SL game. There may be a psychology aspect, I don't know.
