10NL - AK on a paried board
I've been spanking and isolating CO for the last 5 orbits. He has yet to play back at me, thus making it even more likely he is playing back at me (or is it a mistake to think players at this level will adjust?).
Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.05/$0.10 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) SB: $15.20 BB: $8.00 UTG: $17.00 MP: $12.50 CO: $2.15 Hero (BTN): $14.60 Preflop: Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 Players) 2 folds, CO calls $0.10, Hero raises to $0.50, 2 folds, CO calls $0.40 Flop: ($1.15) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) CO checks, Hero bets $0.60, CO raises all-in to $1.65, Hero ??? |

Re: 10NL - AK on a paried board
What can you beat? Nothing but a bluff. Get that "is he playing back at me" mentality at 10NL. I used to think like this and I found myself to be a big loser because I would call people down not believing what they might have (granted I at least had some sort of a hand). FOLD!

Re: 10NL - AK on a paried board
Raise more pre-flop in this situation. On the flop just put him all-in. Just don't put yourself in this situation....you know he's short.

Re: 10NL - AK on a paried board
The hard part about playing against short stacks is that once you bet the flop you're getting 3:1 to call, and that was even with an underbet. It's a bad call against AT/KT/AA/KK/2x, but his range is much wider than that: lots of pp's, Tx, possibly a flush draw or couple overs. Put him in right away, or be prepared to call.
