Line check, 5/10 Deep
No hand histories for this site.
Villain here has built up to a nice stack from one donk handing out money. The donk just busted, and now I am HU with him. He has been playing very tight/solid and possibly a 2p2er so I dont plan on playing him much longer. He 3bets a decent amount, wont play often OOP and has made a few checkraises on the flop and gave up to future agression on other streets. He folds a ton preflop, and I am just constantly raising the button. There is no crazy dynamic between us, and he probably thinks I am decent but a bit of a calling station from a previous hand. Hero (Button) ($2,300) BB (covers) Preflop: I open for $40 on button with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], BB calls. Flop: ($80) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 10[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] BB checks, Hero checks. Turn: ($80) 10[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] BB checks, Hero bets $60, BB raises $190, Hero ... Do you think there is much value in 3betting here given dynamic? If we were 100bb deep, would you be more prone to 3bet? |

No, i think he folds a J to a 3bet, but calls vb on the river. If he is on QK, he has only 3 outs. You give fd a free card, but other than than i prefer calling and vb river more. If we were 100bb deep, would you be more prone to 3bet? yes |

Re: Line check, 5/10 Deep
I call and raise/fold the river.
But I usually bet the flop here. |

Re: Line check, 5/10 Deep
okay so I decided to not 3bet the turn and just call which is pretty standard.
River: ($450) 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] BB bets $360, Hero makes it $ 725, BB shoves his stack, Hero... ($1100 more) Do you like my river play? |

Re: Line check, 5/10 Deep
I would flat the river given his bet sizing. Given that you raised, I'd def fold to the shove.

Re: Line check, 5/10 Deep
I am more then willing to stack off on the turn. I prefer to get it in right there if I felt I could. Being so deep, if we aren't 3betting here we are never getting his stack.
Infact I am more prone to just call with 100BB stacks because it is still likely to get it all in on the river ($460 would be the pot with $770 behind doesn't seem too difficult to manipulate that). As played, I am calling. If I am willing to rock n roll on the turn then this river did not change anything. Too likely he has some missed draw or weaker T. |

Re: Line check, 5/10 Deep
^^ interesting and I really dont disagree with any of it.
I still think 3betting the turn is interesting and really good because a hand like KT will stick around. On river from villains perspective, would you push 44 to the river raise? Is it safe to assume his range lean towards JT, and JJ since 44 is likely to just call the river raise. Do you think my small river raise ever induces a bluff? |

(2 horrible players) [/ QUOTE ] Just a question, how can a proven long term winner on these forums ever be 'horrible'? |
