100 NL - How should i react to this minraise?
Villain is running 17/5/2 over a large sample size. i have no reads or notes on him outside his stats.
Villain: MP $100 Hero: CO $100 Hero is dealt Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Preflop: Villain calls $1, Hero raises to $5, Villain calls. Flop: ($10) K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Villain checks, Hero bets $9, villain raises to $18. Hero? I have never seen a minraise from him. How strong is my hand in light of Villain's minraise? Do i want to call and re-evaluate or raise and try to get it in? |

You got yourself a nice combodraw here but I won't really shove it in here against him.
He seems to be really passive (and bad because he just minraised you) so I would just peel one of for cheap, hope for a jack since that's really disguised and then get it in on the turn. |

Many ways to play this one, but I'm in favor of a shove because most of your outs are clubs and once that third club falls, you're going to lose all your action.
If you push, you could probably knock him off a strong king and even if he calls you down, you've got a coin flip. |

Re: 100 NL - How should i react to this minraise?
Does anybody like a raise to $60-$70 rather than a shove? Seems like this gets all of our FE and we arent technically ahead of any of the hands that call us, so we can check behind the turn if called and possibly save some on the river.
Also, it may look less like a draw if we dont overshove. |

I'd normally just call w/ position.

If he's that scared of the clubs I don't think he'd minraise here. I think if you call you'll get some money off of him on the turn/river if a club hits. If you spike the jack all his chips are yours.

Re: 100 NL - How should i react to this minraise?
I opted to call. Having position and getting great calling odds definitely helped, but the overwhelming reason for the call was i interpretted his minraise as strength.
Turn is interesting. Turn: ($46) Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Villain checks. Hero? |

Re: 100 NL - How should i react to this minraise?
Hmm, tough. It's weird that he checked to us on the turn, I wouldn't expect a strong made hand to do that against us... Is it possible he is on a club draw too? I think it's either that or it's TPWK like KJ or KT or something, but hopefully not KQ..
Well, we have a decent amount of outs even against a set and he doesn't seem to love his hand unless he is going way out of his way to slow play, so i'd probably bet the pot and call a shove. |

Re: 100 NL - How should i react to this minraise?
easy check back...You now have s/d value and a good draw.
I doubt villain folds a better hand at this point, and getting c/r'd means you're likely going in behind. |

Re: 100 NL - How should i react to this minraise?
On the flop I would pop it to either $48 or $52 and call a shove (I do this like 85% of the time and call like 15%). On the turn its a very clear check. You have a little SD value and a good draw that would be commited if he crai.
