three hands $20/$40, $2 ante
I feel like I want to post a dozen hands after every session. I will try to restrain myself, but here are three hands:
HAND I: I am dealt (Kh Th) 7h Other cards out: 3d, 7d, Qs, 6c, 4h A with the 3d, brings it in for $5. B with the 6c completes to $20, I re-raise to $40, A cold-calls, B calls. Neophyte: (Kh Th) 7h 5h A: (? ?) 3d Td B: (? ?) 6c Js A checks, I bet, A calls, B folds! Neophyte: (Kh Th) 7h 5h 2s A: (? ?) 3d Td Ad A checks, I bet, A check-raises, I fold. --- HAND II: Five-handed 20/40 stud. I am dealt (9h 9d) 5d Other cards: 7s, 4c, As, Ks 4c brings-in for $5, As and Ks call, I call, 7c folds. I hope to catch a 9, a 5 or a diammond. ----- 4th STREET ----- Neophyte: (9h 9d) 5d 4h A: (? ?) 4c Js B: (? ?) As 3h C: (? ?) Ks 8c B and C check! I bet, Only B calls. ----- 5th STREET ----- Neophyte: (9h 9d) 5d 4h Kd B: (? ?) As 3h Qc B checks, I bet, B raises, I call. I guess this is why one should throw away small pairs on third street. However, I don’t believe he has a pair of Aces and the pot lays me close to 1:4. ----- 6th STREET ----- Neophyte: (9h 9d) 5d 4h Kd 3s B: (? ?) As 3h Qc 6d B bets, I call. ----- RIVER ----- Neophyte: (9h 9d) 5d 4h Kd 3s (5h) B: (? ? ?) As 3h Qc 6d B bets, I call. ----- SHOW DOWN ----- B shows (Qs Kc 5c) As 3h Qc 6d Neophyte: (9h 9d) 5d Kd 3s (5h) I collect $387. --- HAND III: I am dealt (Ad 7d) 4d Other cards: As, 5c, Jh, Tc, 6c, 7s, Kh. I bring-in for $5, As calls, 7s raises, I call and As call. ----- 4th STREET ----- Neophyte: (Ad 7d) 4d Kc A: (? ?) As 7c B: (? ?) 7s Th A check, B bets, I fold, B folds. $93 in the pot and $20 for me to call. My diamonds are live, but I only have three of them and an ace, a king and two sevens are out. I'll do the first: I think it's pretty likely he has a flush, so I'd check behind. In fact, you shouldn't be betting into that board in any case - it's not like you have to worry about giving a free card here (actually you wouldn't mind getting one) and as you saw getting check-raised sucks. So I'd check behind and then probably fold 6th if bet into. |

Posting them separately leads to MUCH better discussion.

Say you catch a heart lower than Ah on 6th. What if your opponent bets? What if he checks? |
