Default Flight connects in Qatar...

We just hammered out an initial itinerary for our trip with an agent, and we have a flight from Rome to Qatar (Doha, obv) connecting on the way to Bangkok.

Should this be of any concern at all? I don't know anything about Qatar except that it looks to be about 500 miles from Kuwait.

We arrive at like 7pm and then depart for BKK at 1:15 am, if that makes a difference.

I don't understand what you're worried about? Being attacked by terrorists? I don't get it?

But, if you have a stamp from Isreal in your passport, I would be changing your tickets right now... you can't even stop in transit if you do.

The airport looks really nice from all the Qatar Airways commercials on CNBC and the Discovery Channel.

It's not a level. Israelis aren't allowed into most Arab and Middle Eastern countries.

Nor are people who've even travelled to Israel, since said countires don't acknowledge the existence of Israel. If you ask, Israeli immigration will stamp a visitor card rather than your actual passport.

There's really nothing to worry about, as far as Middle Eastern nations go Qatar is actually relatively progressive, and its not like youre actually going to be hanging out there or anything.

Also, I don't think the Israel passport thing is an issue for you anyway, but Qatar isn't on the list that forbids the Israeli stamp.

Qatar is probably one of the most liberal of the Middle Eastern countries, along with UAE. They are a pretty strong ally of the USA, more so than Saudi Arabia or Kuwait.

No concern at all.

No probs from security standpoint at all. Quatar has a modern western style airport with good security.

Don't worry, just dream about your arrival in BKK.
