Bar ideas for NYC?

Tomorrow is my friend's birthday and after a small party at our apartment we are looking to hit the bar scene for a good time. We are hoping for a loud and wild atmosphere with lots of drunken chicks, without going as far as a club. We live uptown and were thinking about checking out midtown/downtown but don't have many ideas since we are noobs to the city. Any ideas?
