Default Tunica games

Sorry if this has been ansered before but my search came up with nothing. How High do the Tunica NLHE games get on a consistent basis? I've been playing the 10/20 at Commerce and need a change of scenery for a while. Obviously I could go to vegas but if tunica has the level of action I want I thought I would give it a try (heard they take care of players there).

Tunica NL is a different animal than elsewhere.
Usually the highest game is going to be 2/5 but there is no cap on the buy-in so it usually plays much higher than what you think a 2/5 would.
Obviously there are some short-stacks there buying-in for the $200 minimum, but you'll also have some players who have bought in for $5k or more.

I think that moving to the Tunica area just for the poker games is kind of silly.
Oxford is kind of far away. Over an hour I'm guessing although I don't know for sure.
There are some Memphis suburbs on the Mississippi side such as Southaven or Horn Lake or Olive Branch which are reasonably nice enough. You could be 20-30 minutes from the casinos if you lived there.

If you are trying to mapquest it or something you should know that the casinos are actually in Robinsonville, MS which is in Tunica County.
The actual town of Tunica is a decent hike south of Robinsonville but there are no casinos there.

Some people have gotten pretty confused by this when looking up the 'town' of Tunica on the internet thinking that's where all the casinos are.

I would be playing poker, video poker, progressive slots, and eating buffets.

Southaven, Olive Branch, or Hernando. Depends on how close to Memphis you want to be.

Oxford seems to have more culture.

Will check out the area extensively next summer, as I'm planning on possibly moving to the area.

Damn Florida is just to damn expensive for a poor old man such as myself.........and this place is full of idiots.

There's also 2 new subdivisions in Robinsonville itself (maybe more). One is called Delta Bluffs by a company called Reeves & Williams. They're well respected. These homes I believe are in the 1500-1900 sf range 3br 2ba 2 car garage.

I don't really agree with Bob (which is rare) that going to Tunica just for poker is a bad decision. That is unless you're normally playing 10-20NLHE and up.

Maybe you should come out, spend a week or two and rethink it.

BTW Delta Bluffs SD is within 1 mile to the light to turn to the Grand.

I would imagine if you were that close and you were friendly with the floor staff at a few casinos they could call you when games got juicy.
