Default Top pair facing shove - what should Ido? (1/2 NL live)

8 handed, stacks from around 200 - 1000.
I've got $400 on the button.
4 limpers to me, I raise to $12 with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
(I've been showing down good hands and getting respect, and no one else was looking very strong. so I don't think the raise was terrible)
blinds fold, and so do two limpers.
Flop comes:
J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
2 checks to me, and I bet $40.
1 fold, and then villain shoves for $130.

I have to call here, right?

I can't see him having 2 pair here, and although 77 is a possibility, I think Ax clubs is much more likely. (Would 77 really check-raise all in on a flop I wasn't that likely to have hit?

What do you think his range is, and how do I stack up? How's my thinking?

dont like the preflop raise. either bigger or not at all imo....

with 4 limpers at least $15 ($16 should be standard 4+1BB for each limper)

as played i think you have to call when it is back to you. expect to see AJ and draws with >50% equity against you a lot tho.

pot was $45 (after rake)
He was a pretty straightforward player.
My raise could've been more, but I'd already seen 3-5 players fold to my $12 raises a couple of times.

with JK you should be overjoyed if everyone folds i think. not just for +ev, but also because when people see this you will likely get more action on your real hands.

I agree - just thought $12 was good enough to do it (at that time on that table).

I called, and he showed A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Now, another question - would you offer to do business here?

sry misunderstood what you were saying. fair enough then you are probably right.

define doing business....

we have 53.23% equity so if your talking about chopping it to reduce variance/keep a big stack then sure its not a big deal

results - I offered to do business and run turn and river three times.

He caught his flush twice, and his ace once, for the whole pot.

Some nights are just like that. I played another hand later, more or less the same way, only me with the draw and a different villain w/ QJ on Q high flop. Missed by a mile.

I'll get 'em next time.
