Panic! At the Disco
Their album, "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" has been on my iPod for the last few weeks. They are totally amazing and I suggest people check them out.
Anyone know anything about this band? |

Re: Panic! At the Disco
listening to this band can cause aural cancer.
from what i recall, they played exactly 0 live shows before being signed by fall out boy's label (how fitting that this is the band they they obviously try to rip off). considering fall out boy sucks, so does this band, which has obviously made no attempt to have an original sound. |

Re: Panic! At the Disco
It pretty much goes like this
If you like fallout boy you will probably like Panic at the Disco and vice versa. I happen to like fallout boy, so I think Panic at the Disco is pretty good. |

[/ QUOTE ] Too much hate. Both are solid pop punk bands that each have very much their own sound. If you can go in to listening just wanting to hear some catchy poppy rock, you enjoy it. If youre expecting ground breaking independant heart wrought music, you will become extremely bitter and hateful like the above poster. FOB's bassist signed them and it really was a great find for him. They are taking off and will be/are already huge in that scene. I find it really sad that all this emoish (sorry term nazi's) poppy punk was really underground a few years ago and now that its popular gets all kinds of hate. I saw FOB several times in atlanta where noone knew them and they busted their ass putting on unbeleivable shows making everyone there fans. All that said, I do think that fame has gotten to them (there is some controversy with Chris ("hey chris..." guy) where the bassist (best friend) was a total deuchebag and I have not done enough listening to their new album to say much about their future efforts. -JP |

Re: Panic! At the Disco
Save yourselves time and just listen to older Saves The Day albums. Nothing in that genre will ever come close.

[/ QUOTE ] Good point except that panic at the disco and saves the day are pretty different. The only similarities being the crowd used to like saves the day and the singing is adolescentish. Saves the day actually wrote songs because they felt something, it seems panic at the disco writes songs to be catchy/popular/fun. -JP |

Re: Panic! At the Disco
Song suggestions include "Lying is the most fun you can have without taking your clothes off.", "I write sins not tragedies" and "the only difference between martyrdom and suicide is press coverage".

I just bought this CD a little while ago. I really enjoy them. And I agree with the poster who said if you like FOB you will like them and visa versa.
