Default NL TRN - 110+5 - Air vs. LAP checked through raised pot

Villain is really strange. He value bet me with a set on our first hand we played, overbet shoved for like 15x a pot a hand later when I made a small bet, but has consistently shown that he goes into check/call mode with anything below top pair.

I've seen him min bet into me once or twice, I'm assuming this means top pair. His preflop min raise can be any 2 but usually he just limps. He is a really weak player.

Nothing wrong with checking the river if you think you will be called often had you made a bet .

Against a player who is capable of folding , a small river bet is not a bad idea .

I feel the need to add that we checked through this pretty quickly so it is fairly obvious that we both have [censored]. I wouldn't attempt this unless I found that he was weak, but am I giving too little credit?

PS: He is a break-even player at ~$25 stakes over an 80ish game sample.

If he's trapping you more than 12.9% of the time , then your shove becomes negative EV .

2145:320 ~ 6.7:1

1/(7.7)~12.9%

He only has 535 in chips at the river.
