Some guy at a home game last night bet me and 5 other people 100 each that NE doesn't win the Super Bowl this year.


He gave us all 10:1 on our money.

As it turns out, I was mistaken. I had showed up late and the bet was already made and I was just given the option and accepted after the fact, thinking we had NE at 10:1.

In actuality, he has NE and we have the board....at 10:1.


Did this bet just get more stupid or less(for him)?
I say more.

so if NE doesn't win the SB then he gets paid 10-1

If NE wins the SB, he wins 600 (100 x 6 people).

If any other team wins the SB, he loses 6000 (1000 x 6 people).




Also, this is a real bet, not some dorm room deal. This guy is a mason that owns his own company.

We called him Mason John for a while, but after busting out first every week for a few months straight I've since changed it to Mason Jar, which oddly enough has stuck.
