Default AQ deep in UB $100 +$9

This is from memory, so apologies..

There are 11 left in the tourney. 106 entrants I think. I have about 23,000 chips. Table average about 30,000. I get AQos in the BB. Blinds are 400, 800 with 100 ante. UTG+2 raises to 3200. (He has 25,000 chips) Fold around to me. My action? It's also worth mentioning he has raised a few times in similar positions. Also worth mentioning that 11th gets the same as 20th. Payouts get better at the final table.

I am certain I messed this up, but I'd appreciate some thoughts and why.

21 views but no replies!! I know I am new to this forum, but someone must have an opinion....I also forgot to mention that we are short handed. Only 5 at the table and in fact he was UTG+1 not 2...

It's 5 or 6 handed?

Well if you are raising here you are basically putting your stack in because any decent sized raise puts about 50% of your stack in the center. I think I'm fine with that.

5 or 6 handed against a guy with a sizeable stack and thats aggressive anything but 3 betting here is pretty poor.

This is an auto raise and call a shove. Shove if he cold calls on practically every board.

OK. So I shoved pre. I figured there was a reasonable chance he had a worse ace or a small pp and a double up would have made me the chip leader, or very close to it. He actually had KK and I didn't catch an ace. I didn't raise as I thought it was a bit pointless as I would be all in anyways after the flop. Comments?

Well shoving lets him call this JJ+ -and some nits fold JJ in this spot-so basically it lets him play perfectly.

Raising allows him to think he has FE (though its clear there is none with half your stack in the middle but he could be awful and make a mistake) and potentially 4 bet shove with air.

I don't understand a raise. If I raise, he is less likely to fold than to a shove. If I did raise and he just calls pre, I've got to call anyway if he shoves post flop...Same result...

Does anyone think a fold is a good move here due to FE? That was my other consideration.
