Default Read vs Read early shove

Live tournament. I've played the villain a few times before and he is an above average player. Very much a thinker (which is why I tried this).

Villain knows me as a decent player and very aggressive.

Stacks:
Villain 22,550
Hero 19,700

9 handed
Blinds 50/100

Villain raises to 250 MP
Hero defends BB KQcc'

Flop 3c 9c 8d
Hero checks
Villain bets 350
Hero raises to 1,000
Villain reraises to 3500 (obv I know he has an overpair here)
Hero Shoves.

I shoved because I know he is capable of folding his overpair. If he doesn't fold then I am ahead of TT/JJ, wrong side of the coin flip against QQ and in trouble against KK/AA.

lol I know fd + 2 overs is standard, but I was wondering if the fact that I read him for an overpair weighed in at all.

Plus the fact that he knows how aggressive I am.

I guess if u took TT and JJ and bluffs out of his range so he had QQ+ or a set and wouldnt fold to your push there's an argument for folding...

Doesn't weigh in at all. With that flop and your hand, all the chips go in. If he is smart he'd put you on pretty much what you have or TJ for OESD. If he has the Tc or Jc then his decision is slightly easier. So he just has to decide if he wants to flip right now for his tourney life (worst case scenario). My guess is, if he has overpair, he would call, especially if he has Tc or Jc. If no overpair then he folds of course.

yeah doesnt factor in when he has sets, and although he is a think I don't think is he 3 betting to snap fold to a 4 bet shove.

so you are saying that calling >> shoving?

and I think he plays a set differently, just from my read, but I was 90% positive he had an overpair when I shoved.

If you just call his RR of 3500 you pretty much expose your hand and if a brick comes on the turn you have no shot. If you push in now you get to see both cards and have a very good chance to double up AND cripple a good player.

BTW, is this the first lvl of the tourney? Those blinds seem awfully low for the amount of chips you have. If it is, then you have tons of FE here. If he does have the AA or KK and he happens to be a good player like you say, then folding will definitely be near the top of his list.
