JJ out of position against a reraising TAG ..lovely
Villain is 23/19/4.4 after 10k hands.
** Full Tilt Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $1/$2 6 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $208.05 fooz: $200 CO: $294.80 Button: $200 SB: $313.15 BB: $490 Pre-flop: (6 players) fooz is UTG+1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG folds, <font color="#cc0000">fooz raises to $8</font>, CO folds, <font color="#cc0000">Button raises to $28</font>, 2 folds, fooz calls. Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($59, 2 players) fooz checks, <font color="#cc0000">Button bets $46</font>, fooz calls. Turn: 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($151, 2 players) fooz checks, <font color="#cc0000">Button is all-in $126</font>, fooz folds. Uncalled bets: $126 returned to Button. Results: Final pot: $151 ** I think the key to this kind of situation is having a good read on the villain's 3 betting range. Unfortunately, I don't and really have no excuse given the number of hands I have agains the villain. So...what's my play? During the hand, I did note his turn aggression is significantly lower than his flop aggression making me think he might be less likely to double-barrel/shove without the goods - thus I played the hand as I did. Thoughts? A flop CR obviously folds out hands I beat. And I think a flop donk is to transparent (b/3b is not prominently in my playbook) and gets raised by a wide range of hands. |

Re: JJ out of position against a reraising TAG ..lovely
u really don't have a good read on his 3bet after 10K hands?? bad luck i guess
regardless, i think u need to make ur decision on the flop in this hand as he's not slowing down on the turn after the flop bet... fold JJ on flop unless u've seen him play his button very aggressive... what do we do with QQ here?? |

Re: JJ out of position against a reraising TAG ..lovely
I hear you with respect to making my decision on the flop. I at least know this is a solid regular that is very likely to shove the turn regardless.
So what kind of flop am I hoping for by calling preflop? Or is it more I expect him to check behind if he misses? I suppose a 90%+ cb% might also lead me to check-shove the flop. |

I think you played it well. It's bs to claim that once he bet flop, he will not slowdown on turn. Your turncall is so strong. i'd say around 80% of the time all the sc in his range will slowdown on this turn, so will AK,AQ and others hand he might 3bet such as QKs,AJs and QJs. I actually believe that even QQ will slowdown on the turn on this flop.

Re: JJ out of position against a reraising TAG ..lovely
i fold.
most tags shove that turn with (99-AA, Tx) with a MUCH higher fequency than they do with say (AK/AQ, 55-88). you called OOP pf, then you called the flop, so he knows youre range is pretty much 99-QQ. the turn didnt change much at all, so he cant expect you to fold many of your holdings that you called the flop with - ie hes probably not bluffing |

how the hell do you put villain on something without 3betting history? Seriously thats guessing in the dark. I guess with his AF it should be high. but ill prolly fold given this situation.
