$25/$50 live: I merge my range on the river
Wynn, live game. $15000 effective stacks.
LP is an unknown, new to the table. Hero has TAG image, but villain may not know that. LP opens to $200, Hero calls in SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Flop Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($450) Hero checks, LP checks. Turn 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($450) Hero bets $300, LP calls. River 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($1050) Hero bets $900... My read is that LP has AT+, a medium pair, occasionally a flush draw. Probably not a set unless it's 99. My bet is repping mostly a straight or a flush or air and I'm thinking he could easily call with a medium pair to catch bluffs. He may sometimes fold KQ/AQ so it's a two-way bet here. If I bet less I'm worried my hand is face-up as a one-pair hand and he may bluff-raise me to represent a flush.

OK, while I don't appreciate Mr. Clay Aiken saying I don't know what I'm doing (as I'm obviously thinking I'm merging my range here, rightly or not), I'm still unsure why a bet of $900 is so much better in this spot with top pair than a bet of $650 would be.
So $900 reps mostly bluff or monster while $650 reps mostly top pair so we bet $900 with top pair because noone puts us on that. Is that because villain will not be aware of this brilliant exploitative strategy and we feel we can play the exploitation game better than him? [ QUOTE ] heh.
