Re: Advice playing Winner Takes All Charity Tournament
With only 25BBs and only 15 minute levels live, you should do the following:
1) Play your good hands for the maximum (whether that means fast or slow depends on your opponents), even if that means you feel you might by be behind, you should take calculated risks to pick up a big stack before the blinds gobble you up too quickly. 2) Hope for a good run of cards. 3) Raise or fold PF. There is no room for calling. 4) Hope for a good run of cards. 5) Since it is winner take all, just win. |

Thanks. I think I'll hope for a run of good cards. Being a charity, there will probably be a few newbies giving their chips away. I find hands like 99 and AK are a problem in these turbos, if you raise and don't hit the flop.

Re: Advice playing Winner Takes All Charity Tournament
Roger that. At a winner take all with a bunch of feebs, feel free to make a huge overbet with hands that have massive showdown equity, but dont play well when they miss the flop, which they are likely to do. 99 and AK both fall in this category. We cant just check fold every flop with 99 and AK when we are playing against feebs and we whiff, we far too often are folding the best hand.
Bet as much as you have seen get called preflop, and maybe a little more. |
