Default NL25: 99 from UTG

I think 99 is a hand that's not easy played when OOP and the board comes low. How do you do in this spot:

Poker Stars
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.10/$0.25
6 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
Hero: $34.50
UTG+1: $26.85
CO: $13.55
Button: $24.80
SB: $20.70
BB: $13.75

Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is UTG with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Hero raises to $1, UTG+1 folds, CO calls, Button calls, SB folds, BB calls.

Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($4.1, 4 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $2.9, CO folds, Button raises to $5.8, BB folds, Hero ???

i dunno. you have a good hand but button is forcing you to play a big pot oop with a very vulnerable hand. i probably call and re-evaluate turn.

I fold to the raise. It's too multiway, we have no idea where we're at. There is only a couple oesd's and no FD that you could be charging. We don't want to reraise and felt this and we don't want to call because we will hate almost any turn card and be OOP. BTN needs to be raising a lot of 7's for us to be better that 33% here.

I call and lead out most turns, give up to resistance.

from villain's point of veiw, we look like we have probably missed that flop and have made a C/bet, he's using his position. Of course he may have a strong hand, but I believe we are ahead allot here.

I agree with Ramana, there are too many hands that beat you. Plus, what do we do on the turn if we just call? C/F? B/F? I'd say there's a pretty low probability he'll check behind if we check to him. i think folding takes us out of a situation where we have to make a more difficult decision

He doesn't think that because we bet into a 4-way flop, we're repping an overpair. His raise is extremely rarely only a bluff or a weak TP. Best scenario for us is that he has something like 88 A7 K7.

4 way flop yes, but extremely raggedy considering it was a raised pot. I C/bet here, is that a leak?

Hands we're happy to see him do this with:

33, 55, 66, 88, A7

The above hands just don't seem that likely. Hands we are behind:

22, 44, 77, TT, JJ, QQ

These hands fit the pattern quite well. I'll do that borderline uNL thing of eliminating AA and KK from his range (because OMG why he didn't push preflop LOL), but jeez, are we crushed here. You put the bet out for information and you got it. Yay. If you fold here you've played the hand perfectly. (I might limp with 99 UTG but my default is to raise it up like you did.)

If you cbet this 4-way flop with overcards, then yes, you're burning money.
