Default idiot straight

Villain is 38/7/1.5 over 150 mined hands

Also, is PF OK?

I don't like PF. This hand is just too weak in MP. I might open this from the Button though. But as always table dynamics could make this hand very playable, even from MP.

I'd probably fold to his turn raise or call and check/fold the river but I don't see a turn push being profitable long term.
There's one combination of cards you split with and 2 that have you crushed and I don't see the villain going nuts with other holdings often enough.

Unless he is very bad or very very aggro, on the turn you've turned your straight into a bluff. Better line is to call and c/c or c/f the river.

Um I fold preflop... what are you hoping to flop here?

Really only the nut flush draw in spades. You don't have too much else working for you.

87 for a straight maybe, but nothing is connected to it, and A2 can never catch a nut straight, top two pair, or nut full house. A8 and A7 combos are weak too. Clearly 82 and 72 suck as well. So of your 6 combos, you have 2 working together. This is not good...

its not a terrible hand by any streach of the imagination, but as a general rule i dont play any hands with 72 in them however pretty they look, so i fold pre. am open raising from the co and button every time

other posters have covered the turn which you have pretty much butchered without an amazing read
