Whats with all the crappy games lately?

Is it just me or has there been a ton of mediocre video games that have realeased and very few good ones this year?

I have a WI, PS3 and a 360 and besides the odd good game one here and there the rest are all garbage.

bioshock just came out and halo fn 3 comes out next month not to mention assassin's creed after that and f'n metroid 3.

There's always gonna be alot more crappy games than good games, but I was thinking the opposite, quite a few good games coming out lately.

I think this has been one of the best years for gaming in awhile; maybe you don't really see it that way cause it's kinda just now picking up, but there have been some very good games out recently and it's gonna get way better this holiday season.

Summer has traditionally been the slow period for games. this is about the time the gaming season picks up, with most big games being out by the holidays.

I think they figure most people are out on vacation, outside doing things, etc...things other than sitting at home gaming. Kinda like how the networks schedule their shows.

I've been loving Blue Dragon and Bioshock, and that's just within the past month. By the end of the year will be Eternal Sonata, Halo 3, Lost Odyssey and Mass Effect. Not to mention some of the other games like Call of Duty 4, Devil May Cry 4, Assassin's Creed, Rock Band, etc.. There's also been alot of great XBox live releases/remakes this year like Bomberman, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, etc..

The beginning of the year was definitely a bit slow. But if those above games deliver even remotely close to expectations, this is going to be one of the best years ever for gamers - especially RPG fans. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

And that's all just on the 360. The Wii already has Metroid with alot of other great upcoming releases as well.

hey, they just came out with ANOTHER WWII game, Medal of Honor. Is it me, or is this WWII genre of shooting games getting a bit monotonous?? I played Call of Duty 3 and while it was pretty good, shooting the same ol Nazis is getting pretty boring. Thank the good lord that COD 4 is going to be a modern day warfare game
