Default Full Tilt Poker wants me to run a few \"connection tests\" yay or nay?

Hi,

I sent an email to FTP bitching about the lag that occurs while playing.

They told me run two tests:

The first one is this:

We would also like you to run a trace route and send it back to us, so
that we have more information regarding your connectivity. Just follow
these steps:

- Click on 'Start', and select 'Run...'.
- Type "command" and press 'OK'.
- A black window with a blinking cursor should open.
- Type: cd \ (that's CD space backslash)
- Press Enter.
- You should now see only ' C:\> ' in the black window.
- Type: tracert 66.212.235.130 > FTPtrace.txt
- Press Enter.
- You will not see anything happen on the screen. Wait at least 2-3
minutes, if the test is not complete and you do not see the c:\>, press
CTRL+C.

Doing it this way will output the information we need into a file called
FTPtrace.txt. If done correctly, you can go into 'My computer' then
select the 'C:\' drive by double clicking. Once in there, you should be
able to see the file FTPtrace.txt

The second one is this:

Also, we would like you to run a "DirectX Diagnostic". Here's how you'll
do so:

- From the desktop, click Start and then select Run.
- Type "dxdiag" in the run box (without the quotes) and click enter.
- Let the progress bar in the lower left finish going across.
- When it is done, click "Save All Information".
- This will open a window asking you where to save the text file it is
creating. Choose your desktop.
- Reply to this e-mail with that file attached.

[/ QUOTE ]

Are these tests safe for me to do? Will they breach my privacy?

It'll be fine.

edit: I suppose if you're using a proxy that you don't want them to know about, this would reveal that.

Not surprising... Most people don't want their inner servers and routers responding to outside pings

I am going through this same procedure with FTP. My disconnects/lags started last week. I thought I was the only one having trouble.

I guess the surprising part is when FTP tells me that I didn't do it right and asks me to do it again and get back to them.
