Default Job for highschool student?

Hey, its my senior year in high school and I'm taking work experience classes which means I get out of school at noon to go to a job. I'm mostly using this as a way to play more poker and build a bankroll. I'm pretty stuck on what to apply for. Not looking for the traditional grocery store, etc. Something that looks some-what good on a resume and will higher 16 going to be 17 yr old.

working in a fancy restaurant might work out well for you...you can probably find a job as a food runner at about 13/hour

Don't worry about looking good on a resume, no one will care what you did in high school.

Get a job that is fun and that you will enjoy.

QFT. And if you don't want the typical "grocery store job", ask your parents like bruin said.

As a senior I worked at the food court in the mall and it was awesome. You meet a lot of great people (and some who are just really strange, tell good stories, etc.), get free food whenever you want, and 10% off every store as a mall employee. I didn't really do it for the money (made 7/hr) but mostly just for the experience and something to do.

Deliver pizza, very easy, get to be by yourself most of the day, and you make great money with tips.

Eh, doing something that looks good on a resume can actually help quite a bit when trying for internships/jobs early on in college. That said, it isn't a huge deal and if you don't know what you want to do it doesn't matter anyway, so finding something easy isn't a bad alternative.
