Default Quick question on calling ranges

$77/6 Max Blinds 400/800 w/ ante

Haven't played a tourney in a long time, just cash games. In the money with 36/296 left. I have been active at the table but not unreasonable. I have started to open shove b/c of stack size (obv), but nothing outrageous, maybe once an orbit. This hand was against "ackbleh" who I guess is supposed to be good but whatever. Is this call standard vs. my range and our stacks?

I don't think so

Q6o is only 51% against a random hand, if he thinks you open very loose (with the top 50% e.g.) than he is a 1:1,5 dog.

getting pot odds of 1:1,12 this is a bad call IMO

LevAA,
Your numbers are off a bit. You need to compensate for his BB being posted already.

He's calling 8700, and the total pot is:
8700 + 9500 + 800 + 400 + 6*75 (antes.) = 19,850.

Equity he needs to call is 8700/19850 = 43.83%.

Or, in your crazy british pot odds: 1:1,28

I still agree it seems like a bad call. He probably barely has odds against a 50% shove range though.
(I find the 50% range stove fills in weird. Anyone agree? J7o is in top 50%, 22, 54s are not.)

I just think if you're shoving as wide as you'd have to be for this to be OK, he can fold and isolate against you with a top 30% hand later and have better odds. Once he wins/loses one hand against you the dynamics totally change, so it's not a simple question of "Take every slight EV opportunity."

It sucks, and I don't need pokerstove to know that. Just plain sucks.

lol, ok my thought exactly. Given stack sizes and his holding it just really seemed atrocious and I thought (if I remembered correctly) that he was a decent tourney player.
