ya... don't slowplay sets because they are more vulnerable than you think. That being said they are still most often the best hand on the flop and you wanna get as much money in as you can as early as you can.

There are a couple lines I like to take with your hand. If you put him on an overpair then I like leading into him and having him raise us to take the lead back. You can then either push your chips to the middle or check raise him on the turn.

If you put him on a hand like AK or AQ I like c/c the flop and c/r the turn as this will earn us a c-bet and allow him to catch up a little on the turn. From there on just take him to value town.

FWIW, if you lost this hand to overs + a flush draw or to TT, then most likely there was nothing you could do to change the results and you were simply destined to get stacked.

In any case, the main benefit of a flop check is that it at least gets a c-bet off of Villain and the AJo nothing hand he'll generally have before you reveal any strength. The drawback is that the checkraise is going to look stronger than a donkbet, but it's possible Villain will play for stacks with an overpair anyway.

Check-calling the flop and donking the turn is another option. This prevents a check-behind from hands like 44 and A7s, while at the same time also giving Villain a (small) chance to spike top pair if he just flopped overs. (It also, admittedly, gives Villain a chance to turn a backdoor draw relatively cheaply, so waiting for the turn to wake up does increase your chances of losing the hand.)

Overall, though, you can't complain about the results in this hand too much -- at least not as far as the action went. You got all the money in, and there was no draw that got there that Villain was going to fold if you had played the hand differently.

By the way, as played, I think probably you should just push the river instead of checkraising. If he's got, say, AA, Villain might check behind on that flush card if you let him.

I'd checkraise flop to 9 and he'd probably go allin or fold. If we make it to the turn then I'm allin. Your line is pretty good since he double barreled, but you have to go allin on the turn.
