Two Entirely Read Based Hands
8/16 at The Canterbury.
Your typical lineup of LAGs and a couple of LPs. We are in reaching distance from the cage, which has been helpful for at least a couple people at the table. All psyched to play some interesting hands, but no such luck. So I offer you these: Hand #1 MP opens. He plays the 15 and the 30 and is just slumming on a Friday afternoon waiting for the floor to start those games. He raises 2-3x per orbit and seems to play well post flop. I call in the SB with 77. BB is utterly awful. He is -3 racks and has yet to see a hand that he won't call / cold call with. He loves to "keep you honest". He calls. Flop comes 932r and checks around. Turn is a 3, putting two diamonds on the board. I bet, call, raise....I? Hand #2 New player limps UTG. Haven't seen him before, but he has a lot of "bling" as the kids say and is waiting for the 30. Button is awful (Steve, middle aged, constantly complaining about running bad) and limps. He is waaaay loose and slightly overly aggressive post-flop. He loves to donk the turn and river, then pay off raises when he is obviously beat. SB folds and I raise black AA in the BB. Flop comes K95r. I bet, UTG raises, Steve 3 bets, I...? Thoughts? GL all, HF |

Re: Two Entirely Read Based Hands
Hand 1: just fold. Not worth it against two opponents.
Hand 3: most will tell you to cap, but I prefer the call and lead turn line. |

His hand looks really suspicious and you could push the bb off a 9. I would check/call all rivers though and puke if a diamond or A comes. Hand2, it does make a difference that there is a 5-bet cap, so 4-bet. Better to define your hand now that way you will have better confidence in your actions on the big streets. PM me villain in hand 1's name if you know it. |

Re: Two Entirely Read Based Hands
Hand1: should have raised from the SB and bet out. Now just call and check call the river, unless your pretty darn sure someone was slowplaying a set. Your getting 8.5:2 on your calls assuming everyone calls. Top pair probably would bet the flop. MP could be raising on a smaller pair, or be putting you on a bluff. A3s, K3s could be possible, but wouldn't he have steal-raised preflop?
Hand2: call the flop, top pairs aren't folding and your not going to fold your overpair. check/call the turn and river. Don't set yourself up to bluffed off the pot. |

Hand #1
I debated and length and folded. His play didn't make sense for a hand that I beat, plus the BB could have a 9. I river was a blank and checked through. MP = AQ > BB = A5. Yuck. Hand #2 I 4 bet, UTG folds and Steve folds a K face up, getting like 15 to 1 after his three bet. Then he went back to complaining about running bad. Play well, HF |

Re: Two Entirely Read Based Hands
no way he has a3s or k3s... he definitely would've bet those vulnerable but likely best hands on the flop...
