This article was discussed in a thread in the MTT Strategy forums. I think Paul Sexton is correct in the specific example he gives when he's extremely short. I elaborated on my thoughts in that thread.

LOL I read the thread - truly aweful advice. How did the Paul-nit get so short to begin with? Prolly trying to fold into the $$ from 2 far out !

Generally, if you are playing to cash over the bubble, you are playing over your BR. An unknown nit posting strategy advice - caveat emptor!

I posted about this on the other thread. I guess daddy got Paul a job as an FTP pro. I think a lot of these red names are amateurs who were on TV. They get paid a little by FTP to play low stakes so the donks can play a "pro", and this allows them to play poker full time.

this advice obviously applies to some stack of like 1 or 2 big blinds. But where do you draw the line?

The article wasn't that bad. You all are acting like Sexton was advocating playing to cash in most situations, but he acknowledges that the general strategy should be "play to win" but that deviating from that strategy on the bubble can sometimes be correct when you have a very short stack. This advice is more applicable to big live tournaments, where the initial bubble is steep but payouts after that increase at a fairly flat rate until the final table.
