Why not cbet? Are you putting him on a better A and fearing a checkraise?

As played, I think we're usually beat. Can't really assign a very narrow range here. Plz lead flop :[

Should definitely Cbet this flop. As played I'd call the river.

Looks pretty good to me. If you bet, only hands that beat you call (unless villain is really bad and will call with a draw). If you check you give villain a chance to bluff. I shove for value on the river, I think enough worse hands call the way you played it plus you'll be crippled if you call and lose.

Or you could play this straight forward and bet the flop, willing to get it in.

Wow, some seriously terrible advice so far.

Checking the flop is fine sometimes. Sometimes I bet and sometimes I check. If I bet, I'm not folding to a push.

As played, it's real tough on the river. I don't think it matters much longterm what you do. What's making it close is that Villain "kinda sucks". Who is it? What I'd do would depend on who it is (call or fold obviously). LOL at value shoving on the river, whoever suggested that.

The only interesting part IMO is the river
I would probably call but it's close

Guh the odds being laid on the river are so good that if he "kinda sucks" I think I call.

Besides, all the players better than I am are sayin' it, .

I guess this is read dependent, but if we're gonna call, why not shove. For me if I'm calling the turn, I'm pretty sure I'm ahead. OP said villain was bad so couldn't villain put us on something other than an A? For me it's shove or fold on the river. If we're willing to not bet the flop, call the turn, do we really want to just call on the river leaving us crippled?

The way the hand was played, I take this line if villain will take a stab at it if I check the flop. I really prefer to bet the flop with the chips that are in the middle.

I'm sorry but checking this draw-heavy flop in the hopes of inducing a bluff later is just silly IMHO. You are way too shallow for such moves. Bet out, and if he flat-called with a better Ace instead of 3-betting, or has you beat some other way, such is life. Giving a free card is just sick.

Who said that's why I check the flop sometimes? Giving a free card isn't nearly as sick as you think it is.
