Doesn't Astrology amongst other things work with moon-phases and don't these influence tide?

For ancient fisherman in a world long before effective nautical methods were discovered, Astrology based on the moon actually did provide better information than random belief in God(s). Astrology also told ancient farmers when to plant seeds and such (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nebra_sky_disk).

Now I don't like to advertise for humbug in general, but in this specific case the odds don't look that good for Mormonism and since "None of the above" was not a valid option to chose, I think Astrology has to win this voting by a landslide.

In this case, the argument ad populum can be useful.
I guess astrology.

I should add that in ancient times they didn't make a difference between Astrology and Astronomy.

The question is if the gravitation of stars has some sort of butterfly-effect on the world, like the moon has on tide. In terms of deterministic chaos it definitely has, but the gypsy on TV will have a tough time to predict which one.

I hope you have progressed since ancient times! Maybe not!

Progression does not always stand for improvement. If something is perfect already, progression means making things worse. We all progressed in many ways, but in some way we wish we hadn't.

[x] Equally unlikely because the concepts are not scientific and thus not testable nor try to describe and/or predict reality.

Is that really a necessity, though? I guess I'd have to give a slight edge to Mormonism, if only for their creative use of chalk.

If I'm not mistaken, in India, astrologers command an enormous amount of respect, especially prominent ones. I'd imagine their amount of influence in day to day affairs is superior to that of the Vatican on common Catholics.

That's a country you don't hear complaining too often about its lack of material stability. Perhaps there's merit to polytheism. Probably not.

David has learned to use the poll feature. The implications of this are staggering.
