3/6 A couple of somewhat thin value bets
No reads in first hand but he's probably bad considering his stack and preflop raise size. Too thin or standard?
Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $3/$6 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) SB: $263.90 Hero (BB): $1,536.00 UTG: $708.25 CO: $677.00 BTN: $880.25 Preflop: Hero is dealt Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 Players) UTG calls $6.00, CO calls $6.00, BTN folds, SB raises to $18.00, Hero raises to $72.00, 2 folds, SB calls $54.00 Flop: ($156) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) SB checks, Hero checks Turn: ($156) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) SB checks, Hero bets $90.00, SB calls $90.00 River: ($336) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) SB checks, Hero bets $105.00 Villain in hand 2 has loose/fishy stats, but actually seems to play ok postflop. I usually just dump this preflop but we're deep and his 3 bet is less than pot sized, and I'm really just trying to hit something big. Thoughts on this river bet?? Re: 3/6 A couple of somewhat thin value bets
first one is too thin, i think you will see Ks far too often here, i don't see the problem with betting flop btw.
second one is fine, although this looks like he has AK or an underpair, i don't know that he calls $240, i might consider ~$160ish, fish love making hero calls in these spots with AK or underpair... i'd give him that chance. |

Re: 3/6 A couple of somewhat thin value bets
Neither hand seems that thin to me. 1st one, his stack is too short to even consider the word thin as there is no threat on your stack.

Re: 3/6 A couple of somewhat thin value bets
Yea I was hoping the 2nd hand looked like missed QK/spades and he'd look me up AK/AQ high.

Re: 3/6 A couple of somewhat thin value bets
First hand I'm not sure what can call that we beat, unless you think he would play AT or AXs (A5?) like this (very unlikely) - I wouldn't bet here.
Hand 2 agreed you can bet but not $240. Give him a shot to look you up with Ace high and guarantee a call from QJ. |

Re: 3/6 A couple of somewhat thin value bets
#1 is fine, especially given his stack.
#2 I would still fold preflop with this hand despite stacks, and I think bet size is fine. |

Re: 3/6 A couple of somewhat thin value bets
1.) fine, probably wouldnt rr pf given stack sizes but whatever nh.
2.) id prefer betting less since you get called by A high more. also you should call a c/r and would rather not have some huge c/r since you bet 3/4 pot. |
