Default Foxwoods no limit pros

So I recently decided to take a break fom working and play poker professionally. I live about 1 1/2 hours from Foxwoods, and have been splitting my time between there and playing online. I am slowly realizing that online poker is just not for me. What I love about poker is sizing people up, table talk, tells, etc. I guess I will still use online for training, but I can't shake the feeling that the "real" game takes place in the casino.

So anyway, I'm currently at 2/5NL, making a little over $500 per day playing all day even though I screw up a lot, and hope to move up to 5/10NL and make $1000 per day. I am curious if there are any other Foxwoods pros or regulars that post here. At my level, I rarely encounter anyone who seems like a solid winner, so maybe if you are there you play higher. Also, any data on Foxwoods-specific winrates would be helpful.

Couldn't you play 500/1000NL and make $100,000 per day?

Haha, very funny. I know that the competition doesn't get that much better going from 2/5 to 5/10, and I am assuming I will get better with experience, so $1000 per day doesn't seem unreasonable. I'd love to hear from people with actual experience though.

I don't play at Foxwoods, but I played professionally at exactly $2/5 and $5/10 (occassionally, I'd play $10-20 NL as well, but only about once or twice a month).

From my experience, the play does not improve THAT much from $2-5 to $5-10 (sometimes the regular players I played with were even worse in the $5-10 game, but just had more money). But having said that, what does change is your swings...at most, I'd lose about $1,000/week in $2-5 NLHE. Whereas, when I jumped to $5-10, I could lose like $5,000 on a horrendous week. So that did make a difference (psychologically).

Overall, I averaged $80K/year in $2-5 NLHE after 1 1/2 years of play. At $5-10 NLHE, I ironically made about the SAME amount after a year of play. The VERY best $5-10 players I played against, averaged about $500/day over the course of a year. I just didn't see anyone averaging $1,000/day 5 days a week at $5-10 NLHE.

Just my 2cents,

Lately I've been playing 1-2 for enjoyment, although will sit in at 2-5 or 5-10 occasionally. The 2-5 is usually very profitable especially nights and weekends but can be tight weekdays. You can make a comfortable profit in that game if you play well, can handle swings(bankroll), don't tilt. Be carefull with the 5-10, though. There are a handfull of very good players who won't give you their money easily, so watch the games if you're playing for a living. Often 2-5 is better or even 1-2 believe it or not.

That's a bummer that people aren't able to make more at 5/10. When I play for a day I play for a full 14 hours, so that should help. Basically, my plan is to go down every Sunday-Monday and play the whole time, and occassionally take full-week trips to Vegas or wherever. I know that going Saturday-Sunday will increase my profits by a lot, but spending the whole weekend in a casino every weekend is just not going to work for me. As for the swings of 5/10, I will have plenty of living expenses in the bank, so I don't mind things going bad for a while as long as I am confident I am a winning player.
