Default Hotel advice--AC

Going down to Atlantic City midweek (tues-thurs) in two weeks. Whats the best hotel combination of location and price. I figure the Borgata will be the most expensive and out of the way, so just looking for the best option. Any advice would help. Thanks.

Where do you want to play? Hotel rates in AC are pretty low midweek after labor day, so you may just want to stay at whatever casino you plan to play at most.

FWIW, I think Borgata is by far the most worthwhile place to play, so I'd recommend staying there if you're satisfied with the rate you get.

If you don't want to stay at a casino, the Sheraton at the convention center has well-appointed rooms and is walking distance to the Boardwalk casinos (especially the Trump Plaza, Caesar's, and Bally's).

The best bet is to stay where you want to play. I don't want to walk around AC in the daytime, let alone at night.

Where's the best place to play during the week? By 'best' I mean the most tourists and fewest locals.

Things I would try-

1) Get a cheap room at one of the hotels in AC West (Holiday Inn express is clean and safe), close to Trop/Hilton

2) get a room there for a night, play at Trop and try to get poker rate for following nights

3) Stay in Absecon- Days Inn is ok, knights Inn is ok but walls are super thin, play at Borg and never get a poker rate

See if you can get the poker rate at Trop or Hilton. Hilton especially will be dirt cheap if they have any rooms left at the poker rate.

Stay at the Fairfield Inn in Absecon if the rooms are available, it's a Marriott so it's not a dive.

(I work for a Fairfield Inn in East Rutherford so I may be baised )
