getting 2:1 with zero implied odds and 1 card to come = fold right?

also with 2 players and the nut FD, how about taking the free card on the flop? especially against a maniac who is still likely to pay off if you hit?

Yuck. He really could have anything, but i don't think there is any point drawing against this maniac. SO i think it is a fold.

Does anyone else think checking the flop is good? Normally i bet this flop to start building the pot, but we don't need to do this with a 90% VPIP spew monster in the hand. Just hit our flush and he will pay off.

However, i think that is hind sight talking. If it was me, i would have potted the flop as you did.

I don't mind the flop bet, in fact, I think playing big draws fast is a good thing.
On turn, I agree with RedRocket, this is normally a fold. Only exception perhaps: if you are pretty sure he's able to make such a move with a single TP, perhaps something like T9 for TP + gut shot, you could count your overs as outs, too, giving you 17 outs. You would only need 1.7 to 1 odds there, which you get. Still I wouldn't think that way even against such a maniac, chances are just too good he flopped a straight or made somethink like trip 8s on turn. So, a clear fold to me.
