Default Why is stuff spicier when I\'m Drunk?

I was discussing this with a friend about a week ago at a 24 hour wing place as we were both struggling with wings that we normally get and breeze through. Same experience last night with some Buffalo Ranch doritos that don't usually even register as hot to me when I'm sober.

This seems counter-intuitive to me. With 99% of experiences when drunk, I'm desensitized. (Inhibitions, sexually, reactions to girls emotions, sense of touch etc) Yet for some reason, after a night of drinking, everything tast like burning. Does anyone have any explainations as to why this is?
