Default Petition: BAN interplayer account transfers at STARS/FTP and others

Just read this article and it seems that not only are MTT's rigged but that the pokersites don't care that they are facilitating the problem.

The Perfect Poker Business

If they can't even manage to deal with this simple kind of collusion, how are they going to deal with Chinese MMORPG sweatshops, Korean Gaming halls, and Russian MMORPG collussion Clans that currently dominate many MMORPG's, if and when Poker reaches those communities?

This has been going on for a long time.

Sounds a lot like timex though I'm not sure how much of that is exaggeration.

I would hope that playing poker requires much more skill than gold farming, but that's just me.

The article says that the scenario is just hypothetical.

But I have heard about all of the scenarios occurring within the article actually happening, so...

Have you tried Gold/ISK farming for $11/hr? (avg American salary) Poker is WAY easier.

Transfers are a nice convenience. I wouldn't say they are "needed" though

If pokerrooms would take the responsibilty of detecting this kind of collusion seriously though, then it wouldn't be an issue.

If I remember correctly, Granny implied Party used aliens to scan your brain while you played to make sure you weren't colluding. Why doesn't Stars do this for their BIG MTT's?

The money could still be transferred by ewallet, certified check, etc. This would solve nothing.

Disallowing inter-player transfers wouldn't completely alleviate this hypothetical problem, as people would just find another means of moving funds - epassporte transfer, Neteller, etc.

That's because the only reason you can't easily farm gold for $11/hr is because there are people in China/Russia/wherever that are willing to farm the same amount as you for pennies on the dollar.

That doesn't mean they are more skilled at the game than you are, just that they don't value their time as much. In poker, they actually have to be better than you at the limits you are playing.
