Villian running 15/14. There were quite a few draws out there, so I called down very weakishly. |

Re: NL25 - At what point in this should we raise?
uhhh 15/14 3bets you pf, EEEZZZ fold...as played im probably not callin 2 streets of bettin from this guy. Raising flop really doesnt get value from anything you beat. Might get called by a few draws but most things you beat fold out. Id probably call the flop and look to control the pot but after he fires the turn even tho its weak im probably foldin. Really what do you beat that a nit/tagish guy is firing 2 barrels w/ here??? As played EZ fold on river.

A better question is at what point you should fold...against a 15/14, you're probably not ahead at any point in this hand.

Re: NL25 - At what point in this should we raise?
I think the call preflop is fine. You have a hand that can hit pretty hard and stack a villain with most of his range with a flush or two pair. I think raising on the flop is going to be best.
You going to get more information when you can and when its cheap. You don't want to play a big pot with that hand, and taking it down on the flop is what you want. If your called I would shut down because after the turn, you only beat KK or worse. |

IMO You cant play ace rag hands against 15/14 types and think your gonna be profitable in the long run. I fold preflop. |

Re: NL25 - At what point in this should we raise?
I would have raised to 7ish on the flop. If he reraises you or bets out on the turn you have an easy fold. When he bets on the flop, I always think 'if I call, what will my move be if he does x,y,or z on the turn?' If you say that you would call a 5 dollar bet, then why not get it in here? You might even be able to check it down.
But I would fold this preflop against those stats |

Re: NL25 - At what point in this should we raise?
The preflop call is not that bad. It's 4-way and you're getting 3:1 in position. Just don't get married to it postflop.
On the flop, assuming villain's range is TT+, AK, AQ, we're ahead of 24 hands (TT-KK) and behind 17 (AA, AK, AQ). Raise it up. |
