Default And You Thought Sites Weren\'t \"Rigged\"...

So I'm sitting on Cake Poker, playing the usual NL$20 and decide to take a look at the tournaments. I see a $1,500 Guaranteed for $5.50 show up and about to be played in about 15 minutes or so. There were only 7-10 people registered at the time so I thought hell, thats a great deal. I decided to wait it out till about 1 or 2 minutes left. Lo and Behold only 29 entrants as the tournament start is now less than 1 minute. I get excited thinking to myself, I only need to beat 28 guys for a $600 payday. (Top 4 are paid at this point)

Then right as the "time till tournament starts" sign changes to 0 the tournament just freezes. We aren't seated, no table pops up and its just frozen. For a second I think its my computer so I completely exit Cake and rejoin. Scrolling through the tournaments tab nothing pops up, the tournament is no where to be seen. I quickly open up the "my tournaments" tab and see the tournament there, start time says 9:00 PM EST and my clock reads 9:36PM at this point. The status of the tournament is listed as "registering", and the numbers keep climbing, its at about 110 right now.

So you tell me, was the site really afraid that such a large prize pool would be given out for less than 30 entrants.
