4/8 Live AKo
Villain is an older asian gentleman. So far he has been very straightforward and weak tight. He has only been at the table for about an hour and the only hands he has shown have been winners (albeit with missed value all over the place).
2 limpers, villain limps, I raise AdKc, blinds fold. Flop: Qd Td 3s Folded to me, I bet, all call Turn: 7d Folded to villain who now bets into me. I call and everyone else folds. River: Ks Villain bets, hero ?? |

Re: 4/8 Live AKo
Call. I can only raise this if the flush doesn't come on the turn and I have 2 pair coutnerfeited. ie. Q33TK board.

Re: 4/8 Live AKo
one other thought to put into your notebook on the villain
did he have his flush on the turn? and thus did he have implied odds to c/r on the flop? he might have missed a +ev play there...it makes his play more transparent if he does not semi-bluff/bet on the come when he has odds |

Re: 4/8 Live AKo
I'm actually pretty embarassed to post the rest of this hand, but I will anyways :P.
I folded to villain's river bet based on the fact that in my mind I was 100% sure that the only possible hand he could have was a flush, and I was drawing to a diamond on the river. Must have been a misclick or something since I probably only have to be right about 10% of the time here to make this call (making it a nobrainer). He of course flashes me AK and I feel like a douche. |

Re: 4/8 Live AKo
You call here. I think he's showing you AQ/KQ alot and he didn't want to give you a free diamond if you were on a draw. Possibly a flush as well or two pair. Ak seems odd.

Re: 4/8 Live AKo
Honestly, most 4/8 players (especially the weak tight ones) aren't thinking "I need to bet my AQ/KQ here just in case he is chasing one more diamond" ... they are thinking "uh oh, a diamond hit, I'd better just call so I don't lose any more money if he hits the flush, or maybe he already has it!". This is part of the reason why I was so sure that I was beat here... usually the weak tight old guys don't try and make a play in that spot.
Although it is certainly a call on the river, I think he shows me a flush most of the time, and a some other pair/2pair or pair + turned fd the rest of the time. |
