Week 1 NCAA lines out
I am surprised UW is getting 6 points at Cuse. I was ready to jump all over UW as a pk or 1-2 point fave, but I will stay away now.
I like, and need to examine more closely: Iowa State -4 vs Kent St Duke +6 vs UConn UVA -3.5 @ Wyo Iowa -14 @ No Ill Wake +8 @ BC Arizona +3 @ BYU Thinking about Akron -3 vs Army and FSU as well, but need to do way more film/reading first. There are a couple of others that I'll look at if they move how I think they will. From Cal-Neva Resort/Casino in Reno: Aug. 30 129 Miami OH 130 Ball State -6 131 Buffalo 132 Rutgers -32 133 LSU -17 134 Miss St 135 Kent 136 Iowa St -4 137 UNLV -9 138 Utah St 139 Utah 140 Oregon St -8 141 Tulsa 142 UL-Monroe Aug. 31 147 Navy -21 148 Temple 149 Washington -6 150 Syracuse Sept. 1 151 W Mich 152 W Virginia -21 153 E Carolina 154 Va Tech -24 155 Marshall 156 Miami FL -21 157 UAB 158 Mich St -21 159 UConn -6 160 Duke 161 Virginia -3.5 162 Wyoming 163 Nevada 164 Nebraska -21.5 165 Mississippi -3 166 Memphis 167 Iowa -14 168 No Illinois 169 Houston 170 Oregon -18 171 Wash St 172 Wisconsin -13 173 Ga Tech 174 Notre Dame -1 175 Missouri -4 176 Illinois 177 UCLA -17 178 Stanford 179 Wk Forest 180 Boston College -8 181 Arizona 182 BYU -3 183 Army 184 Akron -3 185 C Florida 186 NC St -8 187 Baylor 188 TCU -20.5 189 Okla St 190 Georgia -6.5 191 C Michigan 192 Kansas -7.5 193 Colo St 194 Colorado -3.5 195 E Michigan 196 Pittsburgh -20 197 Purdue -7 198 Toledo 199 Kansas St 200 Auburn -13.5 201 Bowl Green 202 Minnesota -17 203 Tennessee 204 California -4.5 205 N Mexico -3 206 UTEP 207 San Jose St 208 Arizona St -17 209 Idaho 210 USC -43 211 FIU 212 Penn St 213 Ark St 214 Texas 215 No Texas 216 Oklahoma 217 UL Lafayette 218 S Carolina 219 Troy 220 Arkansas 221 Mid Tenn St 222 Fla Atl Sept. 3 223 Texas Tech -13 224 SMU 225 Florida St -1 226 Clemson |

Re: Week 1 NCAA lines out
I absolutely love a few of these and one especially
I'll post my picks later I'm trying to get moniez bets for those used to me posting here, I will still put up my picks this year. However, I am no longer writing capsules (the whys). I've been reading far too much psychology/philosophy/etc and don't think writing up capsules is a value added activity. It's long and complicated, but my picks will still go up somewhere for all to see. |

Re: Week 1 NCAA lines out
Miami line is pretty fair. I'd lean 'Canes due to new coach, home team, 16 returning starters, but don't know enuff bout Marshall yet.

Lines are up everywhere but matchbook.
Pirate, you should check out the King Yao-ing thread before you bet season over/unders. |

[ QUOTE ]
Lines are up everywhere but matchbook. Pirate, you should check out the King Yao-ing thread before you bet season over/unders. [/ QUOTE ] I already checked it out, and honestly, I'm not buying into it yet. Lines are set not to predict outcomes, necessarily, but to get 50/50 of the betting public on each side of the number. Thus, poor public opinions of teams (Cal, Auburn) will hurt the King Yao-ed numbers, and the same can be true for teams like Arizona State and Oregon. Oregon and ASU were #1 and #3 statistically in the Pac 10, respectively, in 2006. They finished 5th and 6th. They are going to be much better in 2007, and ASU has a super easy schedule to 8 wins at the least. |
