Which 'players club' is better?

I have cards for pretty much every major casino on the Strip. However, on my next trip I would like to try to concentrate my play on one club card for comps and mailing offers.

It looks like the two major players are MGM/Mirage and Harrah's. Anyone have experience with these? Which one will be more beneficial for a low roller? Will my time in the poker room help accumulate comps, or are those strictly for slots/table games? Is VP the least -EV way to do this for a low roller? I seem to remember many strip casinos not rating BJ play for anything below green chips.

If you're a poker player, you'll get the standard $1/hour in comps unless there is a special running. No mailers, no discounts, no free crap.

If you're a casino player, you're going to get nothing if you bet less than $25/hand at table games and less than max coin .25 or better slots and that's based on coin in per day, not "average" bet.

I play $10 craps/BJ sometimes when I'm bored with poker. Trump Taj sends me free hotel for M-Th, plus offers for $20 matchplay. Borg sends me free hotel M-Th as well, but I haven't gotten a flyer from them in awhile.

I constantly get emails from MGM regarding deals. Nothing free though.

And most of these are the same deals you can get through discount sites such as travelocity, hotels, orbitz, or similar if you look hard. Discounted/special room rates aren't that special since someone is going to fill that room for that price anyways. Whether it be through a website or someone who drops in and gets the "casino" rate.

When I lived in Vegas had slot cards at every venue as I played video poker and slots at everyone of them.

I would do a search on Vegas slot clubs that lists the exact percentage of comps/cash they provide to the player.

Also, it would be to your advantage to play on promo days when they offer 2x, 3x, etc., etc. on points earned.

Thanks for the advice so far, folks.

We got a pretty nice deal from a Wynn mailer, so we are staying there this trip (4 nights for less than $600, Th-Sun). Judging from their Red Card information on their website, it takes a lot of play to get any kind of comp. I am pretty sure I won't qualify for RFB or anything, but if I could get some more mailings with good deals/free rooms I am all for it!

I think I may try to concentrate play at the Venetian this trip to see if I can elicit any kind of offer. Done Bellagio, and will hit Wynn this trip, so a Venetian stay will knock out the big three and I can go back to slumming it like a proper degen!
