Re: 5.5 - KK shortstacked, bad flop
Check/call the flop? Very few cards come on the turn that would hurt you and you give him a chance to bluff. I like it better than bet/folding or open shoving. If he checks behind bet turn if he bets I call or shove. Anyone else have an idea?

Re: 5.5 - KK shortstacked, bad flop
I'm thinking we have to push preflop. I know it's 13BBs, but being that we are UTG, it's likely that we may get looked up by a bigger stack. If not, we are happy to take the blinds.
When we raise UTG and get called, we are basically committing ourselves because the blinds are about to hit us and we will be forced to possibly play a worse hand for all of our chips. There is no reason to believe he has exactly an Ace. He could have any mid-pair, or weaker King, and some queens. Yeah, there is probably a big possibility that he has an Ace, so as an Ace comes on this flop, we need to check and reevaluate what CO does. I could be wrong, but I'd push this preflop. |

I shove. You'll get called by lesser hands.
Plus, thinking players might perceive your shove as weakness and not credit you with KK and call with ace high and smaller pairs. |
