I think it's fine now and then as long as you actually play overpairs like this sometimes.

this line doesn't add up with anything you'd really ever do it with. there's no draws to c/r out really, so if you did have a strong hand you'd be more inclined to just fire again normally. I'd have trouble giving too much credit to this, especially because the size of his bet and your raise just makes the rest of the hand awkward.
