Default Theory of Poker and HSNL 6 Max

I have a question that only a High Stakes player could answer. I am studying Theory of Poker, my friend says it will not help me since me I only want to play $25/$50 6 max NL holdem. He says it is a good book for limit players. It is hard to accept his advice because he only plays $2/$4 NL and gets destroyed every time he takes a shot at $5/$10 NL, so how would he know what it takes to play High Stakes. Anyway thought I would ask the folks who would know.

Thanks
