Default ugh cable modem/wireless internet at home issues

Hey guys, need a little technical help.

We used to have roadrunner through time warner. In our area, Comcast took over. My internet is now running rediculously slow. I don't know if it's my modem, my router, or their service. I'm using a linksys wireless router. One thing I can tell you is that even really simple programs like telnet are basically unusable due to unbelievable packet loss. It takes forever for basically any webpage to load, etc.

Any ideas?

And why are you still using telnet? It's time to switch to a secure protocol buddy.

I'll go with this plan for tonight and see if anything changes.

I'm not using telnet other than to test just how bad the link is. I figure if it can't send one character it must be pretty bad.
