Re: Two AK hands, both feel icky
Hand 1, what do you put him on, and what do you expect him to do?
Hand 2, yeah it's fine with no history or reads. |

Re: Two AK hands, both feel icky
Hand 1: that's what's icky, felt the pot was so bloated that I'd need to call an all-in. But I play tournaments a lot, so three betting AK = a shove instead

however if I don't three bet AK then doesn't shania go out the window? [/ QUOTE ] The 3-bet is definately fine/standard. It's the c-bet I'm not a fan of. I've been checking flops like this a lot with a missed AK. If you want to think about shania here also, think about how it's usually pretty safe to check AA/KK on this flop, especially against an aggressive villain who could raise you off an overpair here. Basically, with AK in this spot, you're semi-bluffing into a range of hands that should really like this flop (sets and overpairs). |

Re: Two AK hands, both feel icky
Dude cbet a lot smaller in hand 1. The pot is much larger compared to stack sizes than in a normal raised pot so you dont need to bet as much to get stacks in / have effective bluffs.
