Pushing on top of a less than min raise
A while back I was at Turning Stone and was dealt 67s. Some ridiculously tight player bet $20. This is a clear AA/KK, I call, short stack pushes for $22 (total). Original raiser pushes for $250+.
I ask the dealer if that is allowed because it was less than a minimum raise. The dealer says it is fine so I ask her to call the poker room manager over. He comes over and tells me it is fine with an angry look like I am wasting his time. To my understanding this is not supposed to be allowed. Is it? mod note: This is locked as there is another thread on the front page about this topic. -RR |

Re: Pushing on top of a less than min raise
no. AI of 22 is not double the original raise so betting is no reopened. a raise to 38 would reopen the betting (im assumingg 1-2NL).

Re: Pushing on top of a less than min raise
Every NL game I've ever been in allows you to shove over the top of a bet, even if it's less than the initial bet. The all-in situation is the only time when "double the original bet" is not a requirement for raising.
Edit: NVM I didn't read the whole thing. Yeah, the bigstack shoving over the all-in should not be allowed since it wasn't double the initial bet. |

Edit: Never mind, he corrected his post.
